I mean, really?The Girl lines are just as snort worthy. (Laughed myself stupid, but really, Talk to the Duelist. It's just as bad. The Quickness jokes after are hilarious.)It's not supposed to be hot, or increadibly touching, we're talking about the scene with a character raised in a whore house. His acheivement lists him as the Easy Lover for crying out loud. We're talking about a fantasy culture, and Ferelden's people in particular, where they see Sex as fun and nothing to be ashamed of. It's a buisness, it's a pleasure in a world with few pleasures, it's funny and wonderful and just something people do.Just like real life.Most men seem at least semi open to male advances, and the same with most women to females. Just like an IMO ideal world.I find the Oh I won't go into the effects of religion on sexuality and the unconsious repression of self. The fact that we've progressed from attacking the het scenes to the Gay ones is at least a few steps forward from just, what, 4 years ago when Hot Coffee almost rattled the Video Game industry down around it's own shoulders. But that's just as some one who was working for 2k just as Coffee broke.Anyway. The whole point is he's taking the Scare and pointing out it's harmless. That it's gay isn't what's coming across as the joke IMO. The pixel porn after, just points out that if video game violence then didn't warp us, this cheesy pixel pr0n sure as heck won't. If he'd wanted to attack the gay aspects there were actual TG and Gay characters he could have easily gone after. Birdo, Our first Trans VG character anyone? Or Cloud and the Cross Dressing or Gay Date options. Or Jolly Roger, his partner rescue plot is easy pickings if he wanted to point out the gay characters and allusions to sexuality has been in games for ages(over a decade in popular games, blatently).Instead he made up a fake little, badly done and tasteless, sex' scene. He fails as a comedian but really, he looks to have been just trying to match the, to the common american, tasteless scene.I see this as social comentary more than an attack.I personally think the corney lines are part of the culture in game. I find them fun and in good humor in most instances ( Licked a pole in winter , was Alistair's euphamism for sex to my male characters, and that's fairly blatently phalic). Some lines may be a bit off and while some parts, like the City Elves story line from start to finish, are terrible- I somehow think this entire game and it's hoopla is a step forward.To advance to a point where sex and gender are not Judeo-Christian hetero binary, we're going to have to demystify sex. As a child of North America, I personally think that part of the problem with that entire clip and it's reactions, is that as a culture, the audiance has been trained that all sex is intense, private and V V srs biznss. I joke on the last bit, because the attitude is finally starting to change. And I for one find real progress in some of the oddest places. Like the fact that a game has such a clip at all when Hot Coffee showed about that much(less as the pixels were fuzzy and freaking tiny), had the same rating, and almost brought legislation on VG content to the senate.
